Despite securing Premier League safety prior to their meeting with Tottenham Hotspur, Leeds United forward Brenden Aaronson was delighted the team were able to continue their unbeaten run.
Dominic Calvert-Lewin’s second half penalty secured a point for the Whites in the capital in front of a packed out away end.
Speaking to the media after the match, American international Aaronson said: “We knew coming into the game that we were safe but you know what, I am proud of the guys for how we went out there today and, you know, competed.
“We were at a high level. The game was very scrappy in my opinion. A lot of long balls, a lot of fighting, a lot of 50/50s.
“But we knew that coming into the game and, of course, they were going to be up for it. I thought they were good in the first half.
“I think that they competed at a really high level. I think that the manager has them competing in every moment.
“I think we could have been a bit better with the ball in moments but I mean full credit to the boys. I think we really competed. It was really good.
“We have got a good result for ourselves and we want to keep going up the table.”
