Elland Road will be a cauldron of noise on Sunday admits midfielder Anton Stach, who is excited to be facing rivals Manchester United for the first time on home soil.

Speaking ahead of the match, the 27-year-old is hoping the atmosphere inside the ground can inspire the Whites to another three points in the Premier League.

“I heard from many people that the rivalry is very big,” the German international exclusively told Premier League Productions.

“I mean, in every country there are games like this and I think you need to be even more switched on in these games.

“Of course, we try to win this game, also for the fans [so] that they have a good day. I think we need to give not 110 per cent, 150 per cent maybe. And then, of course, the most important for us are the points but it is also prestige.

“Many teams hopefully don’t like to play away at Elland Road and this is what we try to make to them, that they don’t feel comfortable in the game. Just be good in the duels, make it not easy to create chances for them and then hopefully get some points.

“I think it is so unique, especially for me. I played in some stadiums and the crowds were loud and everything, but I think Elland Road is very different.

“The stadium is buzzing and then you feel like you have more energy. I think this is so rare in football when you have this. And then you can outperform the opponents with physicality and into the duels, and it is like you play with one more man on the pitch.”

Stach then discussed the first half of the campaign, which saw Daniel Farke’s side collect 21 points from 19 matches in their return to the top-flight.

“I think at the beginning of the season, I think we had also some really good games. We were a bit unlucky in some periods in the time, you know, after the 90 minutes additional time, we conceded some goals and I think now maybe the momentum has turned a bit.

“We focus on us, on the team, and I think we have great team spirit and that is why it works out so well now.

“I think in the last games, of course, we have now different formations. So when we play five or four, I think when we want to change in the game. It is very fluid.

“So we can change really fast and adapt. And I think this makes it hard for our opponent to play against us because they don’t know how we play, how our structure is, and I think it is good when the team can play flexible.”
