Anton Stach added another sublime free kick to his memorable goalscoring catalogue this campaign with a 35-yard rocket against Aston Villa.
Discussing the effort, the midfielder gave an insight into his thought process as he stepped up to strike at goal.
“I just came back from injury so I have not had enough time to practice but before the free kick they asked, yeah, maybe you go second post.
“But then I saw that the goalkeeper had been lurking for the second post, and then I just thought I will just do it. I just tried it, because why not and then it worked out.”
Having to settle for a point in the West Midlands, Stach reflected on the draw which he believes is another important step in the right direction for Daniel Farke’s side.
“I think overall we have to say it was a fair result. We have taken points at some of the hardest grounds to play at in the Premier League.
“I think you can see that we are a whole team on the pitch. We try to help each other. When somebody is doing a mistake, then another one is there.
“And I think only like this you can survive in this league. It is so important. And paired with this, we have a good quality. It is nice to have.
“Our match plan, I think we did it well and then when we win the ball sometimes even high, we tried to get behind the last line of them and I think they struggled with it. Second half, it was more about defending.”
