Leeds United Women will face Norton & Stockton Ancients at Elland Road on Sunday afternoon as Simon Wood's side aim for maximum points, with just two games left of the FA WNL Division One North season.

Ahead of Sunday’s game, last season's Women's Player of the Year Amy Woodruff spoke to the media to share her thoughts on the match.

“There are six points up for grabs and that is what we are going for!” the forward began. “We have such a good environment training here at Thorp Arch, it takes the pressure off us because everyone does so much for us behind the scenes at the training ground."

Speaking on playing at Elland Road, Woodruff said: “It is special, especially being the last home game of the season. We had a great crowd there last season and if we can match or exceed that, it will be great for us.

“It has been a long season. We have had a couple of knocks and injuries throughout it all, but we have all stuck together because we are such a tight knit group.

“We are all best friends out of football, we are all best friends in football and it really is showing on the pitch for us, and to finish off the season at Elland Road is just really special!

“It is a totally different feeling. I think walking out with a squad that we have got, we all deserve it. We all deserve to be part of that day and experience it.

“Our families will be so proud to sit in the stands and watch us at Elland Road and we are just so grateful to the club and everyone involved that makes stuff like this happen. We can look back on this when we are no longer playing and be proud.

“Elland Road is special whether you are a fan of Leeds United or not. It is a different type of atmosphere and I am glad that this gives more people opportunity to come and see that.”
