Leeds United were edged out by Norton and Stockton Ancients in a close encounter at Elland Road, with attentions now fixed on finishing the season on a high.
After the match, Alice Hughes spoke to LUTV to share her thoughts on the game.
“It is massively disappointing. I think we knew how important today was as an occasion, but also the impact that it would have on the league. We are going to keep fighting until the last minute of the last game, but today is a big knock.
“It has been a season of ups and downs. If we can end on a high and give ourselves the best chance of still making the play-offs, I think that is what is really important and it will do the team and the performances justice.
“Every single week we are taking it game by game, competition by competition. We will shake off today and refocus, then we will go again next Sunday.
Reflecting on playing at Elland Road, the midfielder said, “Walking out at Elland Road is an absolute dream! The noise and the experience was incredible! We are very lucky and fortunate to have this experience.”
“Thank you so much for your support, and please keep coming down to watch us play. We heard every single one of you with every single tackle, and every single shot.”
