Leeds United Women were victorious in the West Riding FA County Cup final, as they beat Bradford City Women to make it back-to-back triumphs following last season’s win on penalties against Halifax Women.

After lifting the trophy, Whites midfielder Alice Hughes spoke to LUTV to share her thoughts on the game and the campaign in general as the curtain comes down on another year.

"It feels amazing!" the day’s captain began. "It has been a long old season, a tough old season, so I think to finish on a high as a group of girls, it feels really good.

"We had some key players missing today so I think that shows the depth that we have got and the quality of the girls that we have got.

"To really pull through and to have a few different goal scorers is really important!

"I think we will learn a lot from this season. I think we have pushed again. It is third place and it is not something to be disappointed with but I think the fact that we are disappointed with it kind of shows where we are as a club.

"We will take the lessons from this season, regroup and see where we get to next season."
