Adobe Women's FA Cup Preview: Norton and Stockton Ancients vs Leeds United Women

Whites make trip to North East.

Norton Sports Complex

Leeds United Women head into their first Adobe Women’s FA Cup clash this weekend, heading to Norton and Stockton Ancients, for the second time already this season.

Leeds are coming in off the back of a 5-2 win away at York, where a hattrick from Ellie White, full debut goal from Monique Watson, and half-volley from Kath Smith secured all three points, and top spot in the FA WNL Cup.

In the previous clash against Norton, in Group U of the FA WNL Cup, the Whites were denied all three points in second half stoppage time, finishing 2-2 despite Alice Hughes and Abbie Graham’s goals to put Leeds ahead either side of the break.

Last time out for Norton was a 2-0 win away at Halifax in the League Cup, bouncing back from a 5-0 defeat at home to Huddersfield in the league the week prior.

Leeds have enjoyed relative success in the competition previously, making it to two finals in 2006 and 2008, but fell to defeat at the hands of Arsenal both times.

Action from the Norton Sports Complex gets underway at 2pm.
