Aaronson features as USA defeat Uruguay in Tampa

Brenden Aaronson USMNT Uruguay Nov 25

Brenden Aaronson played the final 15 minutes of the United States’ 5–1 win over Uruguay in Tampa on Tuesday evening.

The 25-year-old Leeds United attacker was introduced late on and made the most of his short cameo, completing all five of his passes with 100% accuracy and taking eight tidy touches as the hosts closed out an impressive victory.

The fixture carried added intrigue for Leeds fans, with Uruguay led by former Whites boss Marcelo Bielsa. But it was the USMNT who controlled proceedings throughout, backing up their weekend win over Paraguay - a match in which Aaronson also featured - with another confident display.

In the stands, members of Leeds United’s Tampa Bay supporters’ club were in full voice as they watched one of their own in action. After the final whistle, Aaronson made his way over to greet them, signing autographs and capping the night by donating his shirt in a classy gesture.
