The Whites’ unbeaten run at Elland Road continued with a 3-1 win over Hull City on Monday night, which sent Daniel Farke’s side to second in the league table.
Leeds had the best possible start when Sam Byram rose highest in the 9th minute after Crysencio Summerville’s shot was parried into the path of the full-back, who nodded home the opening goal.
The visitors equalised just after the half hour mark through Fabio Carvalho and an end-to-end, feisty encounter soon followed throughout the rest of the 90 minutes.
Numerous penalty calls were waved away but in the 88th minute, Summerville was brought down by Regan Slater and stepped up to take the resulting spot-kick. He fired straight down the middle past Ryan Allsop and Elland Road erupted as the win looked to be in sight.
Daniel James put the icing on the cake deep into stoppage time with a sensational strike just past the halfway line with Allsop out of his goal. As Hull pushed for an equaliser, the ‘keeper was left stranded when United cleared the ball and the goal was gaping for the Welshman to strike first time from 50+ yards.
We travel to Coventry City on Saturday as we look to keep our unbeaten run going on the road, but in the meantime, check out our gallery of photos from Monday’s win…
