After a sensational year in front of goal, Jess Rousseau has been named the Leeds United Women’s Player of the Season for 2023/24.
Striker Rousseau collects the award following a superb campaign to date, which has seen the forward grab 23 goals in 24 appearances in all competitions.
Jess joined the club at the beginning of 2023 from Lincoln City and has shone in her first full campaign for the Whites.
In 18 starts in the FAWNL Division One North, Rousseau’s 15 goals leave her tied with Hull City’s Helen Lynskey in the race for the league’s golden boot.
The 20-year-old started the season as she meant to go on, netting in August’s curtain raiser against Stockport County on home soil.
A pacy and skilful forward, arguably Rousseau’s finest performance came in March, where she grabbed a hat-trick in United’s emphatic 5-1 victory over rivals York City.
Last time out, the striker was again deadly in front of goal as Simon Wood’s side dismantled Chorley 4-1, with Jess herself adding two to her tally in the dominant win in Garforth.
Rousseau and her teammates have three matches left of their campaign as they look to finish the season strongly, starting with this weekend's trip to Stockport County.
