Hull born David, a product of Nottingham Forest's youth system, is a versatile midield player with plenty of experince.
He made over 155 senior team appearances with Forest and also gained England Under 21 international honours, making 25 appearances between 2001 and 2004.
His form attracted interest from Southampton, who were then in the Premier League, and he moved to the South Coast club in a £2.5million transfer in 2003.
The 2007/08 was David's first with Leeds and he was one of the most consistent players, making 41 appearances and scoring four goals. Several times he won man of the match awards.
