Experienced defender who signed for the club he supported as a boy during the summer of 2009.

A former Season Ticket Holder at Elland Road, Leigh joined the club from Sheffield United for an undisclosed fee on transfer deadline day.

The centre-back boasts a wealth of experience having had two spells at Sheffield United, one at Watford, and a stint at Sheffield Wednesday. He has made over 300 career appearances, the majority coming in the Championship.

Leigh, who won promotion to the Premier League with Sheffield United in 2006, signed a four-year contract with Leeds.

The defender made his debut against Stockport County at Elland Road on September and went on to feature 38 times during the 2009/10 season.

Leigh, who can play anywhere at the back, scored his first goal for the club at Stockport in December 2009 with a terrific strike.

That campaign proved to be his most prolific in a Leeds shirt with his appearances restricted to just nine starts and six sub appearances following the club's return to the Championship.

Leigh also found appearances restricted the following season - he made just three starts under Simon Grayson - before being welcomed back into the fold following the arrival of Neil Warnock as manager.

Unfortunately for Leigh, he suffered an injury on his first start under Warnock, which was to rule him out for six games, then after playing three succssive games towards the end of the campaign he suffered a ruptured patella on the penultimate day of the season at Cardiff which was to rule him out indefinitely.
