Tom, an England Youth international, made a surprise first team appearance during the 2006/07 season.
Tom became the first United player to make his senior debut for the club while still at school when he appeared as a substitute in the second half of a Championship game against Norwich City at Carrow Road.
A striker who stands 6ft 4in tall, he is another of the United youngsters on the fringe and was seeking to push his career further forward in the 2008-2009 season.
He a had a loan stint at Macclesfield Town during the season before returning to Elland Road where he featured for the reserves.
Tom started the 2009/2010 season as a member of the reserve squad.
