Jonny Howson

A product of the club's Academy system, Jonny Howson is the longest-serving players at the club, having made his first team debut back in September 2006 against Barnet in the Carling Cup.

Since then, Jonny has made over 200 appearances for the club and has established himself as a determined and skilful midfield player with a knack of scoring vital goals.

While his first strike came during our relegation season, at Norwich in 2007, he had netted 14 career goals up to the end of the 2009/10 season, including two vital strikes in the League One second leg Play-Off semi final at Carlisle in 2008 to put Leeds into the Wembley Play-Off final.

Jonny, also popped up to score a vital goal at the end of the 2009/10 season when he bagged the all-important equaliser against Bristol Rovers on the final day of the campaign when Leeds needed to win to secure promotion. Jonny also wore the captain's armband on a number of occasions. Promotion saw the midfielder's contract extended for another year - until 2012.

Season 2010/11 saw Jonny as the club's regular captain and he bagged 11 goals in his first full season in the Championship, including a 15-minute hat-trick against Scunthorpe United in October 2010. He also became the club's first ever present player since Neil Sullivan in 2004/05.
