Republic of Ireland under-21 international Alan Sheehan turned down the offer of a new contract with Leicester City to join Leeds United during the summer of 2008
Alan originally arrived at Elland Road in January 2008 on loan and made 10 appearances as the club reached the Play-Offs. Alan scored his first goal in the 1-0 win at Doncaster Rovers in April, but a red card at Yeovil in the penultimate league game led to a three-game suspension.
Alan's professional career started in 2003 when he was signed by Leicester City and he also had a loan spell at Mansfield Town. He made his Irish under-21 international debut in June 2005 after previously representing the under-19s.
The defender made 14 appearances during the 2008/09 season, but ended the campaign on loan at Crewe Alexandra.
Alan also moved out on loan at the start of 2009/2010 season when he joined Oldham Athletic.
