Former Charlton Athletic midfielder Lloyd Sam joined the club during the summer of 2010, but injury prevented him from holding down a regular first team spot during the club's first full season in the Championship.
He started the campaign strongly, scoring three goals in three games, against Lincoln City, Nottingham Forest, and Millwall, but injuries swiftly halted his progress at Elland Road.
Lloyd, who was actually born in Leeds but only lived in the city for a matter of weeks, started his career at Charlton where he has made 134 appearances.
Lloyd has also had loan spells with Leyton Orient, Sheffield Wednesday, and Southend United. He was a virtual ever present as Charlton reached the League One Play-Off semi-finals in 2009/10 before tasting defeat to Swindon.
