The Oxford-born goalkeeper, a member of Wolves promotion squad last season, joined on a one-year contract during the summer and will provide competition for Casper Ankergren. The 32-year-old joined Leeds after spending 10 years at Cheltenham Town.
He made over 300 appearances for the Whaddon Road club, but joined Coca-Cola Championship winners Wolves on an extended loan deal last season where he provided additional goalkeeping cover for Mick McCarthy's squad.
Shane impressed United manager Simon Grayson during the pre-season programme in the summer of 2009 and started the campaign ahead of his Danish rival.
