Curtis Weston celebrates his first goal for the club

Midfielder Curtis Weston has joined Championship outfit Scunthorpe United on loan until the end of the season.

The 21-year-old, who joined United last summer, will link up with Elland Road striker Tomi Ameobi, who is also on loan at Glanford Park until the end of the current campaign.

Scunthorpe boss Nigel Adkins watched Curtis in action for the reserves last week when United played out a goalless draw with the Iron at Elland Road.

The former Millwall trainee, the youngest player ever to feature in an FA Cup final, has made 11 appearances for United.

His only league start came on the opening day of the season at Tranmere and he scored his only goal for the club in the 3-0 win against Northampton on January 5.

Scunthorpe beat Coventry City last weekend, but they are currently battling to stay in the Championship after winning promotion from League One last season.

Curtis follows Ian Westlake who has joined Brighton on loan, and one more player is expected to complete a loan move out of the club on Tuesday.
