LOST IN RED MIST
United boss Gary McAllister felt two sending offs ruined the derby clash with Huddersfield as a spectacle on Tuesday night.
United's Jonathan Douglas and Town's Jon Worthington were both dismissed before half-time in the first ever league meeting between the two clubs at the Galpharm Stadium.
The derby was low on entertainment, but Huddersfield were able to celebrate after an Andy Holdsworth goal proved decisive late on.
"Obviously there was a lot of disappointment in our changing room," said the United manager. "But we'd had a good run, and it's certainly not a disaster.
"It was a very scrappy game and the sending offs had something to do with that. They contributed to it being a game of knock-downs, free-kicks, and petty tackles.
"I felt Dougie's was for two soft yellows and their man looked to make an honest attempt when he was sent-off. It went to 10 v 10 and became very bitty.
"These things happen. They are sent to test you and we didn't react well enough to Dougie going off.
"We lost the calmness that he brings. When you nedd to force things you need a calm head and that's what we need from here.
"We'll deal with it , move on, and prepare for Millwall on Saturday."
