Tresor Kandol goes close against Brighton

Attentions have already turned from Saturday's 0-0 draw with Brighton to Tuesday's trip to Doncaster.

The Seagulls stalemate leaves United in eighth spot - four points adrift of the Play-Off places - and boss Gary McAllister was quick to move things on.

"The lads were back in Sunday morning for a cool down," said the manager. "There's no time to sulk or mope. We'll pick a side on Monday to go to Doncaster and we need to reverse Saturday by winning the game.

"Everybody admitted afterwards they can play better and we can improve, but we'll keep going and we'll stay together.

"We've just got to keep going. There was good movement, but we huffed and puffed a little bit and weren't at our best.

"We dominated the game and created chances, but we didn't take them and we didn't get that break."

The closest United came was when Brighton defender Andrew Whing, a player who started out under Gary at Coventry City, cleared a Dougie Freedman shot off the line during the first half.

"It was a fantastic clearance," said the United boss.

"They came to get a point and got away with a point. They did the same at Forest on Monday and I applaud them for that, they got a point."

But the focus has now switched to the re-arranged trip to the Keepmoat to face a Doncaster side who are still chasing automatic promotion.

"They are all massive now right to the last," added the boss. "Whether it's teams at the bottom, fighting for their lives, or whether it's teams going for promotion."
