Fabian Delph gets away from Robbie Savage

Birthday boy Fabian Delph is the first to admit it has been an amazing few months for him - but the young midfielder is keeping his feet firmly on the ground.

Fab, who celebrated his 19th birthday on Friday, has made 20 first team appearances, scored three goals, won six man of the match awards, and made his England under-21 debut. All in the space of just four months.

"It's been unbelievable for me and my family," said Fab, speaking exclusively to LUTV.

"Last season I wasn't playing and this year I've played 20 games and got an England call-up.

"It's all happened really fast to be honest, but I'm coping with it and I'm enjoying it."

Fabian made his under-21 debut on Tuesday, coming on as a late substitute during England's 2-0 win against the Czech Republic at Bramall Lane.

"I was overwhelmed to get the call," he said. "There were some big names like Lennon, Frazier Campbell, and Muamba so I was a bit nervous but I enjoyed it."

Fab's future has also been the subject of much speculation in the media with a number of Premiership clubs reportedly interested in the youngster.

But Fab, who signed a four-year deal with the club earlier this season, just shrugs off the stories.

"It's just what people tell me. I don't read the newspapers - I don't take any notice," he added.

"I just stay level headed. My family keeps me focused and I have good friends and good people around the club who help me a lot."
