In view of the increasing popularity of tickets for our away games we have reviewed how the process will work for the 2011/12 season. In making these changes we have taken into account the feedback that we have received from fans who regularly apply for away tickets and given due attention to the issues that were raised last season to make the application process more user friendly.
A new online away application system will be in place for the forthcoming 2011/12 season. This will be managed by the Club and integrate directly into Leeds United's existing ticketing system.
Online applications will be accepted on a game-by-game basis and not on a phased basis as per recent seasons. The features of this new online system will include instant confirmation that your online application has been successful, staggered application days for season ticket holders and members to apply, travel can be purchased at the same time as purchasing a match ticket and improved email confirmation. The process will also create loyalty.
Any games with a low allocation will be allocated on a loyalty basis. At this stage, no away games have been designated as 'Loyalty' fixtures as we are still awaiting final confirmation of ticket allocations.
Allocation of tickets
After deducting the allocation of tickets for Away Season Ticket holders, 80% of the remaining tickets will be reserved for home Season Ticket Holders and 20% for Club Members. Strictly 1 ticket per Season Ticket Holder/Member.
How to apply
Applications will only be accepted via our new online system. Click here to access the online booking system.
The Club has withdrawn the postal and fax application system for the 2011/12 season. We will not accept applications by postal or fax application.
All season ticket holders and members, including disabled supporters and Regional Members Clubs are able to use our new online away application system.
Approximately 4 weeks before each away fixture tickets will go on sale online. Tickets will initially go on sale exclusively to Season Ticket Holders on a first come first served basis, followed by an exclusive period for Club Members. These onsale dates will be announced on a game-by-game basis. After the members period, any remaining tickets will be made available online and sold on a first come first served basis to both season ticket holders and members.
Whilst we will endeavour to sell away tickets 4 weeks in advance of the fixture, this will be determined upon receipt of the ticket allocation from the away club.
The on-sale dates for each away game will detailed in the Latest Ticket News section and in the Matchday Programme.
In order to purchase tickets online, you need a valid email address (the email address does not have to be unique) and your customer number needs to be active for online sales.
Once your customer number is active for online sales, you need to log in using your customer number together with a password. Many season ticket holders and members already have access to our online booking system as they have previously purchased home tickets, cup tickets, events, memberships, etc, and their password will not change.
If you are purchasing away tickets for friends or family, their customer number(s) must be linked to your account. This is a simple process and can be done once you are logged in online. We are advising members and season ticket holders, to link their friends and family to their account in advance of tickets going onsale. If you require assistance with the linking of family and friends, please contact Ticket Services on 0871 334 1992 or email tickets@leedsunited.com.
All tickets will be sent to the main contact of the application and not the individual members.
Our records show that there are a very small percentage of season ticket holders and members who do not have access to an email address. These fans will be able to contact Ticket Services on 0871 334 1992 during their exclusive period to apply. This option is strictly only available to those season ticket holders and members who do NOT have an email address registered on our database. Calls will be dealt with on a first come first served basis and cost 9p per minute plus network extras. All tickets are subject to availability. No priority will be given to telephone applications.
Booking Fees
If paying by credit or debit card there is a £1.00 booking fee per ticket. This applies to all purchases including official coach travel.
Loyalty Games
Approximately 4 weeks before the fixture, Ticket Services will make an announcement via www.leedsunited.com confirming the deadline dates to apply and all details including the number of away games that fans must have attended in order to qualify to apply for a ticket for a 'Loyalty Game'.
Tickets for 'Loyalty' games will be allocated to those fans who have attended the most games.
Please note: Loyalty online applications will only be processed based on the number of away games attended NOT by the time and date the online application was made.
Refund Policy
Away tickets can be returned to the Club for a refund up to 48 hours before the away fixture, this is not applicable to away season ticket holders.
Not Received your Tickets through the post?
If you have purchased away tickets but you do not receive your away match ticket(s) through the post, please contact Ticket Services in advance of the game on 0871 334 1992 or email tickets@leedsunited.com. We will contact the Away Club and request replacement tickets to be printed and left for collection on the day of the game from the Away Club's Ticket Office. This is subject to their duplicate policy. Replacement tickets cannot be issued in advance of the matchday.
Misuse of Away Tickets, Membership and refunds
Leeds United Season Ticket Holders and Members who travel to our away matches are reminded that tickets are strictly not transferable, and failure to adhere to the policy could result in losing the right to apply for away match tickets.
The reason for this stance is that we give an undertaking to opposing clubs that we know who is buying/using each individual ticket and this, in turn, has given the clubs confidence to allocate us a good number of tickets where available, as we saw at Barnsley last season.
Without such an undertaking, clubs may not give us such high ticket allocations. A big factor in keeping allocations high is the behaviour of our supporters of which control of access is a small, but significant part.
Our Membership scheme is recognised by all our Championship clubs and we ask our opposing clubs for their co-operation with the scheme. Upon entry at the away ground, we request that the stewards check the Membership number on the Membership card corresponds to the Membership number on the reverse of the ticket. In the event that the Membership numbers do not correspond then the supporter is refused entry.
Away tickets are not transferable and are only valid for the Member whose name they are registered to. It has become apparent at recent away fixtures that Season Ticket Holders and Members are applying for tickets and then passing them on for others to use on the day. Many Members have been refused entry at away grounds due to this.
As a result, we have reviewed our away ticket refund policy and disciplinary process and how the club will deal with the misuse of away tickets.
All fans (with the exception of away Season Ticket Holders) can return an away ticket that they cannot use to the club up to 48 hours in advance of the away fixture for a refund.
The following procedure will now apply to any Season Ticket Holders or Members who are found to be guilty of the misuse of away tickets:
1. The Season/Membership card and matchday ticket will be confiscated on the day.
2. The Season/Membership card will be returned by the club to the individual with a letter explaining the penalty for misuse.
3. The penalty will be that they are both no longer eligible to apply for away tickets.
4. Any fans that have been found guilty of the mis-use of away tickets will have the option to appeal against our decision if they do not feel it is correct or appropriate for their individual circumstances. Fans wishing to appeal must do so in writing.
Leeds United reserve the right to amend on-sale dates or change the selling procedure for any fixture. Dates of fixtures and kick off times are subject to change.
The email address for general ticketing enquiries is tickets@leedsunited.com. No bookings will be accepted to this email address. For further information please contact Ticket Services on 0871 334 1992.
