BORO: ROSLER PREVIEWS RIVERSIDE TRIP

Uwe Rosler looks ahead to Sunday's clash with Middlesbrough...

Uwe Rosler expects to face a "very difficult to beat" Middlesbrough team on Sunday afternoon, but the United head coach believes his side –when at their best - can "cause problems to any opposition in our league".

Both of United’s victories so far in 2015/16 have come on the road, and Rosler’s men are looking to make it three consecutive away wins when they visit the Riverside Stadium this weekend, having picked up three points at both Derby and MK Dons in recent weeks.

Sunday’s televised clash could well pose their sternest test of the season so far, though, with second-placed Boro, who are among the favourites for Championship promotion this term, entering the game in a rich vein of form.

“Middlesbrough are on the back of six straight wins, they’re very difficult to beat,” Rosler said.

“They’ve had a steady progression over the years and they invested heavily over the summer.

“I think they’re ready for the final push into the Premier League.”

However, Rosler has seen his side suffer just one league defeat from their opening eight games; a start to the season which has already shown signs of progression from the previous campaign.

“We have proven that we have stabilised the ship – we are very, very difficult to beat,” the head coach said.

“I think we’ve shown a great team effort and work ethic in the way we work against the ball. I think we are very good in the transition.

“When everybody is available and we are in good form, I think we can cause problems to any opposition in our league.

“We always try to mean business. We are realistic this season, Mr Cellino has given me realistic targets and we are right on track.

“We will improve throughout the season, there’s no doubt about it – our players will get better.

“When you see our first eight games, we played a lot of teams who have come down from the Premier League or were in the play-offs last season. In the majority of the games, we did reasonably well.

“We are going there full of confidence and we know we can make life difficult for Middlesbrough.”
