We can now confirm that this summer’s pre-season friendly in Austria will take place in Grödig, Salzburg on Tuesday July 21.

The game was originally scheduled against Athletic Bilbao, but United will now face Eintracht Frankfurt due to the Spanish side’s commitments in the Europa League qualifiers.

The game will be at the 4,100 capacity Untersberg Arena in Grödig, a market town located in the district of Salzburg-Umgebung.

The stadium is the home of Austrian Bundesliga outfit SV Grödig and was recently expanded following their promotion to the top-flight.

Salzburg airport is located 13km away from the centre of Grödig and the town itself is at the foothills of the Bavarian Alps.

Kick-off time for the game is still to be confirmed, but further pre-season arrangements and ticket details will be released here on www.leedsunited.com in due course.
