HEAD COACH CAN’T WAIT FOR SATURDAY

David Hockaday on Dundee United visit…

United finish their pre-season schedule on Saturday when Dundee United (3pm) are the visitors to Elland Road and David Hockaday says he can’t wait.

The United head coach remembers playing at Elland Road as an opposition player but admits it will be a dream to lead his team out on Saturday.

“I can’t wait,” admitted the head coach. “I’ve played here as an opponent and I’ve told people that it was a really intimidating place.

“It was a tough place to play. We do have to make Elland Road a fortress again where people fear to tread. I can’t wait for Saturday.

“For me to be the head coach at Leeds United and to lead a team out at Elland Road, you can only dream about that. I’m incredibly fortunate and I’ve got an opportunity that I’m going to take with both hands and I’ll give everything I’ve got to Leeds United.”

This will be the first meeting between the two sides and the head coach says he couldn’t have picked a better team to finish pre-season with.

“It will be a tough game,” added the boss. “We’ve built up a pre-season and we wanted to finish off with a tough test against British opposition.

“I couldn’t have picked a better team to play.

“They will get the ball down and they are going to play. They will be of a top Championship standard.

“It will be a tough game for us but I’d like to think that it will be a tough game for them as well.”

Tickets are still available for Saturday's game, supporters wishing to attend the game are advised to buy in advance by clicking here.
