United striker Chris Wood is among the Sky Bet Championship nominees for April’s PFA Fans’ Player of the Month award.

Wood marked his return from injury with four goals from eight matches in April, taking his tally to 12 for the season and reclaiming his place at the top of United’s 2015/16 goalscoring charts.

The New Zealand international was on target in the midweek draw with Queens Park Rangers at the start of the month, bundling the ball home from close-range before Tjaronn Chery’s late penalty rescued a point for the visitors.

Wood then netted his first brace of the season in United’s next Elland Road outing – a thrilling 3-2 victory over Reading – as two well-taken second-half goals secured the three points.

His most recent goal came in the 2-2 draw away to Hull City, opening the scoring at the KC Stadium with a half-volley from Charlie Taylor’s cross.
