Crewe play out goalless draw at Thorp Arch…

United’s Development Squad played out a goalless draw against Crewe on Monday afternoon at Thorp Arch.

Momentum switched between the two sides during the game and both sides saw shots from distance saved.

Chris Dawson, Simon Lenighan and Lewis Walters all saw good strikes at goal go just wide of the mark.

United keeper Dan Atkinson made two terrific saves, one in either half, to keep the game all square.

Both teams had chances to nick the three points towards the end with free-kicks but both defences remained firm and resolute.

United defender Adam Drury started his comeback from a calf injury by playing 90 minutes while former Southampton youngster Gboli Ariyibi played the full game, and looked lively.

United: Atkinson, Coyle, Coker, Bryan, Drury, Dawson (Philips), Thompson, Denton (Cook), Ariyibi, Lenighan, Walters. Subs: Dixon, Parkin, Roper.
