HUNT HOPING FOR STRONG FINISH

Noel Hunt on the season’s final four games…

Striker Noel Hunt is hoping for a change in fortunes at Oakwell on Saturday (3pm).

United’s last four competitive trips to Barnsley have ended in defeat and the striker is hoping to get a win in the final Yorkshire derby of the season.

“The Blackpool game was a big win for us. We were quite confident going into the game,” said Noel. “It is done now. We got three points in the bag and we have another big game this weekend.

“I still think that there is a lot to come from the boys. I personally think that we can be a lot more aggressive.

“Hopefully we can instill that into our game during the next four matches. I'm told we haven’t had a lot of luck against Barnsley over the last few years so it would be nice to get the win over there.”

Noel has battled against injury this season, but now that he is back playing he is looking to finish the campaign on a strong note.

“It was tough being injured but it’s great to be back playing again now. The main thing is to get my fitness up and try to contribute to the team,” said Hunt. “When we win games and pick up points I’m happy.

“A lot can be determined in regards to form on how you finish the season. It is very important to have a good run of games and to stay professional.

“The season is not over yet, we have four important games left.

“The young players will be stronger for this season. It is good to have those pressures in a season and hopefully it will make them hungrier to go out there and put more fighting spirit into their performances.

“It is important how we finish the season. It is very important that we finish on a good note.”
