Full-back Charlie Taylor feels he is "improving all the time" under the current coaching set-up at United, saying "it’s making me a better player".

Taylor has been one of the stand-out performers so far this season and is the only player to have completed all six of United’s opening fixtures, including the Capital One Cup tie at Doncaster Rovers which went all the way to penalties.

The 21-year-old recently came second in our Player of the Month vote for August – ranking just behind captain Sol Bamba – after continuing his fine form from the second half of last season into the new campaign.

“I feel like I’m playing well, I’m just enjoying my football really,” he said. “I’m playing back at left-back.

“I’m enjoying every game and taking it one game at a time. I’m enjoying playing for Leeds.

“I think I’m improving all the time and learning bits from the gaffer and the coaches in training.

“I’m learning something new every day with the coaching staff here. It’s making me a better player.

“Every little detail is so focused on; everyone knows what they’re doing.”

Having ended last season on the wing, Taylor has returned to his natural position of left-back this term, but he is still required to be attack-minded at times in line with Uwe Rosler’s gameplan.

“The gaffer likes his full-backs to get forward and I think me and Berra have done well getting forward this season,” he said.

“It’s not just your defensive game, you’ve got to offer something in attack.”

Reflecting on United’s start to the season, Taylor added: “I think it’s been a good month for us.

“Everyone knows we’re unbeaten now and I think that win against Derby was vital.

“It’s five games unbeaten in the league and we’re up to tenth and into the top half. It’s been a successful month I think.

“I think now we’ve got that first win under our belt we can kick on now. Things are looking good and we’ve got to carry that on into Brentford on Saturday.”
