ROSLER GLAD TO ADD DALLAS WIDTH

Head coach discusses United's newest recruit...

Uwe Rosler has described newest recruit Stuart Dallas as a "very exciting young player", who the head coach believes will solve United’s wide issues as well as adding goals to the team.

Dallas completed his switch from Brentford on Tuesday afternoon, penning a three-year deal at Elland Road to link up again with his former boss.

Rosler brought Dallas to English football back in 2012 while in charge of Brentford, plucking the young winger from Northern Irish side Crusaders.

And after the 24-year-old became Rosler’s seventh signing of the summer so far, the United head coach could not hide his delight at the deal.

“We’re very happy – finally we got our wide player,” he said.

“Stuart Dallas is a very exciting young player. I went over to Belfast and met him with his parents three or four years ago.

“At that point he was a semi-professional and he came a long way in a short space of time.

“Like the other signings we’ve made, he has his best years in front of him.

"He can play on the left and on the right. He can interchange positions, he’s an intelligent player.

“What he can really add to our team is goals. Last year he scored eight goals in a very successful team."

Despite his age, Rosler is confident that Dallas will be able to handle the weight of expectation that comes with joining Leeds.

“When I met him and his parents for the first time, I knew he was coming from a good family with good values in life,” the head coach said.

“He’s an extremely hardworking player who will not shy away from big challenges. Leeds is a big challenge to play at Elland Road in front of 30,000.

“But he is a player who can wear that heavy shirt with no problem."
