REDFEARN BACKING MOVEMBER

Head coach shows his support for charity campaign...

Neil Redfearn and members of the club’s Academy are once again taking part in the Movember campaign by growing their moustaches for charity.

Many of you may have already noticed the United head coach sporting some additional facial hair throughout the month, and it is all in the name of a good cause.

Movember aims to raise awareness and vital funds for a number of issues that affect men’s health, such as prostate cancer, testicular cancer and mental health problems.

Redfearn has been an ardent supporter of the campaign in recent years and believes taking part demonstrates the togetherness at the club.

"It’s Movember and I’ve been put under pressure by the Academy staff to do it again," he said.

"I did it last year and the kids are doing it. Some of the kids’ are hilarious.

"You’re shocked when you see some of them – it’s like a different kid!

"It’s good, it’s for a good cause. It’s important.

"We’ve got to be seen to be together and we are together, it’s a family. It’s a great club to be at.

"We’ve got great staff, we’ve got some great young players, we’ve got some great experienced pros and some good overseas signings that are just starting to find their feet now.

"They’ve really grasped the nettle and it’s exciting times at the club."

Redfearn admits striker Mirco Antenucci is leading the way when it comes to facial hair in his first-team squad though.

"His is unbelievable, he’s got a great beard," he said.

"It’s important that we have that camaraderie."
