Caretaker boss Neil Redfearn has said that he has called upon the experience of United duo Stephen Warnock and Michael Tonge during the past two matches.

The caretaker head coach has been speaking mainly to Tonge before, during and after matches and is using his invaluable experience during his spell in charge.

The midfielder has over 400 career appearance to his name, with over 50 of them coming in a United shirt.

“The senior players are experienced and have been at this level for quite a while now and they understand it,” said Neil. “I include both Michael Tonge and Stephen Warnock in that.

“Michael Tonge is great on the bench and we have a chat and we talk about things and how the game is panning out.

“It is always good to see someone else’s perspective on the game. If there is something that I have missed that helps."
