CHARLTON: DUO TO MISS OUT

CHARLTON: DUO TO MISS OUT

Warnock and Byram struggling with injury...

Stephen Warnock and Sam Byram look set to miss Saturday’s trip to Charlton Athletic.

Byram missed last weekend’s game against Yeovil due to a muscle injury while Warnock started the game, but was forced out of the action due to an ankle problem sustained during the build-up to the Elland Road encounter.

“Stephen will be struggling to be available for Saturday and Sam hasn’t really done much over the last 10/12 days,” confirmed boss Brian McDermott.

“Stephen has had an injection, the next game isn’t for a couple of weeks so hopefully he will be fit for that.

“Sam did train on Thursday, but he hasn’t done anything for the past week or so, so he would be a risk.”

The boss re-shuffled his personnel following Warnock’s departure last weekend, and Jason Pearce moved into a wider, more attacking role in the absence of Warnock.

The boss has been considering his options ahead of the Charlton clash - but is keeping his cards close to his chest.

“We’ve put the team together for the weekend,” said the boss. “We’ve worked on our pattern of play, and we’re ready to go. Adam Drury and Danny Pugh are training again after injury. Are they options? Potentially.”
