DARKO EXCITED FOR HOME DEBUT

Elland Road debut for new head coach…

Wednesday night will see new head coach Darko Milanič make his Elland Road debut when Reading are the visitors.

The head coach took charge for the first time at Brentford on Saturday but he has said that he is excited to now make his home debut.

“I’m excited to play the game at home on Wednesday night,” said the head coach. “I feel everything together. This is a big club with a lot of fans. There is pressure but everything is positive.

“I think that in the squad we have a lot of quality players. We have individuals but in football it is important that you have a good team.

“I want us to attack more. We need to have an offensive mentality. I don’t want us to defend all the time as that is not my style.

“I need a little more time before the players can think like I do. I want to make it good here.”

Reading are United’s opponents on Wednesday and the head coach hopes his side can break them down.

“I have seen Reading’s games and they are a very good team,” added Darko. “They play quick football and have some good players.

“We have spoken about them and during the game we have to find a way to beat them.”
