BIG CROWD WILL BOOST THE LADS - REDFEARN

Head coach on the bumper attendance expected on Saturday...

Neil Redfearn has described Saturday's anticipated bumper crowd at Elland Road as a "tremendous thing for the lads", and believes the high attendance is a reflection of the strides his side have made in recent months.

Saturday’s crowd against Nottingham Forest is set to be our biggest at home of 2015 so far, and possibly the biggest of the 2014/15 campaign, with the 29,131 at September’s 3-0 victory over Huddersfield Town this season’s current highest.

Redfearn said: "It’s a tremendous thing for the lads and it just shows you the feeling for the club and how big it is.

“I think from the football club’s point of view and from our point of view, it shows that people are starting to believe what we are doing.

“I think they see the young players coming through and I think we have been brave as a group to put them in and people can see where we are going with them.

“This is maybe reflected that there are so many people that are going to be coming through the gate this weekend.”

Redfearn is expecting a pulsating tie between two teams who are both entering the final 10 games of the season in rich veins of form, with ninth-placed Forest having won four of their last five and United entering the game on the back of consecutive victories.

"Forest and Leeds is usually a good game anyway, its two big clubs with good followings from both clubs," said the head coach.

"It’s two sides that are in form at the moment and it’s building up to be a good game.

"The fact that we’re looking at a big gate on Saturday, I think, is testament to what we’ve been doing.

"People can see that things are starting to come together, which is pleasing from the football club’s point of view.

"Moreover, I’m pleased for the supporters because it’s important that they can look from now until the end of the season with hope and look into next season thinking that this is the way forward."
