SILVESTRI EYEING THREE POINTS

Goalkeeper keen for a return to winning ways...

Goalkeeper Marco Silvestri says he and his team-mates are focused on taking nothing other than all three points when Birmingham City visit Elland Road on Saturday.

Silvestri helped United claim an encouraging point away to Bolton last weekend, but the search for a victory continues having failed to win in any of the last six Championship outings.

"We want the points because we need a win. I hope our fans can help us," said Silvestri.

"It’s difficult because we’ve played a lot of matches in a few days. It’s hard.

"But now we need to get some points.

"We need to see ourselves, we need to see the results. We need to win and after that I think the position is not a problem."

Silvestri admitted that his side could have claimed all three points at the Macron Stadium, but believes the draw was a positive result and provides a platform to build on.

"I think we played a good match against a good team," said the 23-year-old.

"It’s not easy to play there but we played a very good match and took a good point.

"I think it was important to get the first goal but in the second half we conceded the penalty. At 1-1 we could score again but the result is okay I think.

"When we finished the first half at 1-0 to us and we had a good chance with Morison, I hoped to win.

"Maybe if we hadn’t conceded the penalty, we could have won."
