BOSS – I’LL KEEP WORKING HARD

David Hockaday speaks...

United head coach David Hockaday insists that he is the right man for the job and that the hard work is paying off.

The head coach admits to feeling under pressure, but he says he feels that pressure mostly from himself.

Hockaday’s future was the subject of media speculation over the weekend but the United head coach says that he has belief in his own ability.

“I feel under pressure every minute of everyday and the biggest pressure is from myself because I want to win every game,” stated Hockaday. “I know that the work we are putting in and the coaching we are doing is paying dividends because of the way we are playing.

“We are turning this ship around and I think that there are signs with the way we are playing and the fitness of the boys. We are out-running every team we play against and we are trying to out pass every team.

“I thought that until the sending off against Watford we matched them, I really feel that. So it made it doubly galling that was the outcome on Saturday.

“In regards to myself I’m confident that with what I’ve got I’m getting as much out of this group of players, who I love to bits, than anybody else could. That is my belief and I’ll just keep working hard.

“For what it’s worth the players are right behind me. They like what we are doing and they are buying into it and they are as devastated as anybody about the result at Watford.”
