WOOD NETS BRACE BEFORE INJURY SCARE

United striker on target for New Zealand before suffering injury...

Chris Wood continued his rich vein of goalscoring form but was forced off with injury during the early stages of New Zealand’s 5-0 OFC Nations Cup victory over Vanuatu.

The United striker netted a quick-fire brace inside the opening five minutes to make it four goals from his last three matches, only for a shoulder injury sustained shortly after to cut short his involvement in the game.

The All Whites’ victory was completed as they took a five-goal lead into half-time, ensuring they made it two wins from two in comfortable fashion.

Anthony Hudson’s side now face the Solomon Islands on Saturday and will be hoping to have their captain, Wood, available for selection.

Any injury updates on the United striker will be posted here on leedsunited.com as we receive them.
