Football is back and Leeds United start the pre-season campaign with a trip to Wetherby Road to face National League North side Harrogate Town.

United first-team games against Harrogate Town have been few and far between, with just three meetings in their history:
 
Pre-season 1986 - Leeds won 2-1 thanks to goals from Ian Baird (2), John Stiles and Andy Ritchie at Harrogate.
Pre-season 1988 - Leeds won 2-1 thanks to goals from Ian Baird and John Pearson at Harrogate.
Pre-season 1991 - Leeds won 8-1 in a behind-closed-doors game against Harrogate, with goals coming from Lee Chapman (2), Imre Varadi (2), Carl Shutt, Rod Wallace, Gary McAllister and Andy Williams:

Matt Heath, who will go down in Leeds United folklore as the first player to score for the club in League One, had a spell at Wetherby Road and remains on the coaching staff.
 
Recent friendly visits to lower league sides:
In seasons 2012/13 and 13/14, Leeds visited Farsley - winning 5-2 in July 2012 thanks to goals from Andy Gray (2), Robbie Rogers, Billy Paynter and Sanchez Payne. The following summer they returned to Throstle Nest, winning 5-0 thanks to strikes from Dominic Poloen, a brace from Matt Smith and one each from Noel Hunt and Aidy White.
 
The first Farsley game in July 2012 saw debuts for Martin Craine (trialist), Paddy Kenny, Jason Pearce, a second debut for Andy Gray (trialist), Paul Green, as well as youngsters Ross Killock, Monty Gimpel, Sam Byram, Sanchez Payne, Simon Lenighan and Dominic Poloen, The following summer saw first-team debuts for Matt Smith, Luke Murphy and Noel Hunt.
 
Last pre-season saw the Whites make the short journey up to face Guiseley, winning 2-0 thanks to goals from Jason Pearce and Matt Smith.
