SQUAD NUMBERS CONFIRMED FOR DUO

Loan signings are handed their United shirt numbers...

Our latest recruits have had their new squad numbers confirmed, with Sol Bamba taking number three and Granddi Ngoyi selecting number 10.

Bamba, an Ivory Coast international centre-back, replaces Stephen Warnock as the club’s number three, while the number 10 shirt previously worn by Noel Hunt is taken by French midfielder Ngoyi.

The loan signings from Palermo - both until the end of the season - could make their United debuts in Saturday’s Yorkshire derby at Huddersfield after training with their new team-mates this week.

Upon completing his move to West Yorkshire last Friday, Bamba said: "I feel a positive attitude and a good spirit. Hopefully we will show that on Saturday. I’m very happy to be here. To feel the atmosphere in training and everything with my team-mates is like coming back home."

Ngoyi, whose switch was confirmed on Monday, added: “I’m very happy to be joining a good group. I will do my best for this club. I’m happy because I didn’t play a lot of games in Palermo, I’m very happy. My role is to help the team. If the coach chooses to play me I will do my best for the team.”
