Five Stats
United’s first competitive visit to Huddersfield’s new ground, back in April 2008, saw a feisty game end 1-0 to the hosts. Both teams had players sent off - Jonathan Worthington for the hosts and Jonathan Douglas for the visitors. Andy Holdsworth headed the winning goal for the Terriers in 76th minute.

A year later it was the same 1-0 score line on Valentine’s Day as Nathan Clarke headed home from a corner. Leeds peppered the Town goal as goalkeeper Alex Smithies kept out everything that Leeds could throw at him. The game saw American striker Mike Grella make his United debut.

Leeds picked up their first point at the Galpharm Stadium in an entertaining 2-2 draw in February 2010. The Terriers took the lead through Anthony Pilkington but Leeds turned the game on its head with goals from Jonny Howson and Luciano Becchio. The hosts snatched a point with five minutes to go through Gary Roberts.

Leeds achieved their first win at the John Smith’s Stadium at the start of December 2012, with a 4-2 win over their West Yorkshire rivals. Huddersfield took the lead through Chris Atkinson but Leeds hit back with goals from Michael Tonge and Luciano Becchio. Former Leeds midfielder Adam Clayton equalised from the spot. Second half goals from David Norris and a header form Becchio earned the spoils for the Whites

Did you know that Leeds have travelled to Huddersfield for three pre-season games in years gone by? They came in summer 1996 (0-0), 1999 (5-0) and 2000 (2-1).
