LEE ERWIN HEADS OUT ON LOAN

United forward joins Bury on a 28-day loan deal...

Lee Erwin has joined League One side Bury on a month-long loan deal.

Erwin, a summer signing from Motherwell, heads to Gigg Lane in a bid to gain regular first-team football after finding opportunities limited since his switch to Elland Road.

The 21-year-old is yet to make his United debut and has been an unused substitute on five occasions so far this season.

Erwin has, however, caught the eye for our Under-21s this term, netting three goals from his five appearances, including a brace last time out against QPR.

Speaking after that game about the possibility of a loan move, the striker said: “I would enjoy going out on loan if there’s no chance for me of getting first-team football here.

“After getting first-team football last year, it’s a lot better than playing Under-21 football.

“Hopefully I can get the chance to prove my point. The main thing for me is just to develop. I’m still just 21.”

The Scotsman could now make his debut for third-placed Bury in Saturday’s League One clash at home to Wigan Athletic.

Everyone at Leeds United wishes Lee the best of luck during his time at Gigg Lane.
