BIDS REJECTED FOR ROSS

Boss confirms offers have been turned down…

Brian McDermott has confirmed that two bids have been rejected for striker Ross McCormack.

Media speculation suggested both Blackpool and Middlesbrough had made offers for the Scotland international, but while not confirming the two clubs, the boss said two offers had been turned down.

“He's staying,” said the boss. “I want him to stay at Leeds, he wants to stay at Leeds, and there’s a couple of offers that the club have knocked back. That’s the story. There’s no more to it.

“You can see what he brings to us with his calmness on the ball. You could see that on Saturday against Brighton.

“In my first game in charge he created two goals for Luke Varney. He’s a good lad and he loves it at Leeds. Why would he want to go?”

McCormack scored United’s first goal against Brighton at Elland Road and played a part after coming off the subs bench against Chesterfield on Wednesday night.
