Our Under-23s were narrowly beaten in a 2-1 defeat away to Cardiff City on Monday afternoon.

Rollin Menayese opened the scoring for the hosts at the Vale Resort just nine minutes into the Professional Development League clash, but Frank Mulhern converted a 55th-minute penalty to deservedly equalise with his second goal in as many matches.

Cardiff were able to clinch the three points nine minutes from time, however, with Rhys Healey slotting home to harshly condemn the United youngsters, who ended the game with seven scholars on the pitch, to their first defeat of the campaign.
