IPSWICH: STAT PACK

IPSWICH: STAT PACK

Andrew Dalton provides the stats ahead of Ipswich's visit...

Floodlit football returns to Elland Road for our second home outing in the space of four days as seventh-placed Ipswich Town make the midweek trip up to West Yorkshire.

Ipswich’s last five visits to Elland Road:
January 28th 2014 - Leeds United 1-1 Ipswich Town
December 15th 2012 - Leeds United 2-0 Ipswich Town
January 21st 2012 - Leeds United 2-1 Ipswich Town
March 12th 20111 - Leeds United 0-0 Ipswich Town
April 28th 2007 - Leeds United 1-1 Ipswich Town

Five games to remember:
Tony Yeboah will have happy memories of playing against the Tractor Boys as he hit his first ever Leeds hat-trick in April 1995's 4-0 rout. Gary Speed scored the Whites' other goal against George Burley's side at Elland Road.

Vinnie Jones scored his first goal for the club in a Second Division 1-1 draw at home to Ipswich on September 9th 1989. Sadly, though, a Chris Fairclough own goal kept Leeds in 12th position in the league table.

Tony Dorigo scored his one and only penalty as relegation-threatened Leeds won a vital Premier League game against Ipswich on February 27 1993. Mick Stockwell brought down David Batty in front of the Kop and Dorigo slotted home the only goal of the game.

Goals from Robbie Fowler and an Ian Harte penalty ensured Leeds ended a miserable run of seven league games without win on March 6 2002 at home to Ipswich.

Former Leeds loanee Alex McCarthy had an Elland Road return to forget on January 21 2012. Having taken the lead through Andy Drury, goalkeeper McCarthy saw red for handling outside the area and Leeds took full advantage. Goals from Robert Snodgrass, Ross McCormack and Luciano Becchioensured all three points for the hosts.
