UNDER-21S: UNITED HOST YORKSHIRE DERBY

Huddersfield Town visit Thorp Arch on Monday afternoon...

Our Under-21s host Huddersfield Town at Thorp Arch on Monday afternoon (1pm kick-off), looking to build on last week’s victory away to Coventry City.

Goals in either half from Luke Parkin and Casper Sloth saw Paul Hart’s side come from behind to claim the win last Monday, their first in five games.

The United youngsters currently occupy fourth place in Professional Development League 2 North and take on the leaders in their first of two Yorkshire derbies this week.

Huddersfield sit top of the table and arrive at Thorp Arch on the back of an eight-game winning streak.

It will be the first of two local affairs for our U21s in the space of four days, with a trip to Sheffield United in the Premier League Cup awaiting on Thursday evening (Bramall Lane, 7pm kick-off).

Leeds will be without this season’s top goalscorer Frank Mulhern, who is away with the Republic of Ireland U19s, but Steve Evans has confirmed that Lee Erwin will feature in some capacity.

Goalkeepers Eric Grimes and Charlie Horton are also currently on international duty, meaning Bailey Peacock-Farrell is likely to start between the sticks after making his first senior appearance at Wycombe on Friday night.

Captain Lewie Coyle serves the final game of his three-match suspension, so Tyler Denton could again take the armband.
