REDFEARN PRAISE FOR YOUNG DUO

REDFEARN PRAISE FOR YOUNG DUO

Redfearn on Mowatt and Cook…

Caretaker head coach Neil Redfearn was full of praise for United’s young midfield duo of Alex Mowatt and Lewis Cook following Saturday's draw at Birmingham City.

Both players have started the last two games that have seen United beat Bolton at home and secure an away point to Birmingham this past Saturday.

Alex was United’s goalscorer on Saturday and Redfearn was pleased for both players who have made their way through the club's Academy at Thorp Arch.

“Alex is a class act,” said United’s caretaker boss. “He is going to be a top, top player, and so is Lewis Cook.

“You have got to remember that these players are just 17 and 19 years old, but for me they are good players.

“I don’t look at them as kids anymore, I just look at them as top players.

“If you watched Lewis Cook on Saturday you can see that his game is measured. His touch is good and he has a great range of passing.

“He gives the ball away every now and again but he has a heart like a bucket and he goes and gets it back, which is great.”
