Under-21s and Under-18s record impressive victories…

United’s Under-21s and Under-18s sides were both in action on Saturday and both sides recorded impressive results.

The Under-18s were the first to kick off with an 11am start against York City.

United’s youngsters ran out 8-0 winners on the day with Robbie McDaid and Munya Mbanje both bagging a hat-trick, and Frank Mulhern and Clarke Oduor completing the scoring.

Neil Redfearn said: “The Under-18s were outstanding. They moved the ball about the pitch well and there were a number of outstanding players; Jack Vann, Frank Mulhern, Munya Mbanje and Robbie McDaid.”

United’s Under-21 squad headed to Garforth Town on Saturday and were joined by a number of first team players including Alex Cairns, Jake Skelton, Dominic Poleon and Chris Dawson.

The Under-21s were 4-0 winners with goals coming from Poleon, Tom Lyman, Kalvin Philips and Piteu Crouz.

Neil Redfearn, who was at the game said: “The Under-21s gave an assured performance against Garforth. All the first team players gave good accounts of themselves but Alex Purver was outstanding in the centre of midfield.”

Under-18s vs York City: Peacock, Taylor, Vann, Turnbull, Pearce, Assenso, Mbanje, Berry, Ferguson, McDaid, Mulhern. Subs: Rollinson, Hill, Wilkes, Oduor, Bell, Molloy, Downing.
