LOAN DEAL FOR UNITED KEEPER

LOAN DEAL FOR UNITED KEEPER

Rachubka moves on short-term deal...

Paul Rachubka

Goalkeeper Paul Rachubka has joined Tranmere Rovers on loan until January.

The 30-year-old joined United from Blackpool during the summer and has made seven appearances for the club.

Paul's last outing came against Blackpool at Elland Road at the start of the month when he endured a torrid evening and was substituted after just 45 minutes with United trailing by three goals.

United boss Simon Grayson, who worked with Rachubka at Blackpool, was quick to publicly support his goalkeeper in the wake of the Seasiders defeat, and he believes a loan move will be beneficial for all.

"Paul needs to get out and play some games," said the boss.

"Goalkeeping is all about confidence and there's no doubting that Paul's took a huge knock that night.

"But, as I've always said, he's an experienced goalkeeper, I brought him because I know what he is all about, and he has come back strongly in terms of what he has done on the training ground and in a behind closed doors game this week.

"The move to Tranmere is an ideal opportunity for Paul to get away from the limelight here and play some games, and hopefully get back to what he does best."
