United midfielder Alex Mowatt has been named in the Sky Bet Team of the Week following his match-winning display in Saturday’s 1-0 victory over Millwall.

Mowatt, who celebrated his 20th birthday on Friday, scored the only goal of the game at Elland Road with a curling free-kick on the 39th minute.

The Academy product played on the left of midfield and was influential throughout as Neil Redfearn’s side made it four wins from five and back-to-back Championship victories.

Redfearn said: "I thought he was the best player on the pitch with his touch and awareness. I thought it was a great free-kick.

"These young players are growing all of the time. There’s loads of scope to work with them because they’re talented –they’re young and they’ve got legs."
